Studio Conducting

Build the confidence and technique to lead recording sessions and communicate effectively with orchestras and ensembles.

3 Credits • Term 3

Even if a composer never conducts professionally, understanding how to lead musicians in a recording environment is an invaluable skill. The ability to communicate musical intentions clearly and efficiently in the studio can make the difference between a good session and a great one.

This module builds practical podium skills while providing insight into the rehearsal process from both the conductor’s and performer’s perspective. It empowers composers to be more confident collaborators in recording sessions, ensuring that their musical vision is realized to its fullest potential.
