12 credits • Terms 1-4
Nothing compares to hearing your music brought to life by world‑class musicians. This module serves as the core of the MFA, giving students extensive real‑world experience preparing and recording their own scores. Over 15 sessions, students progress from writing for solo instruments to conducting full symphony orchestra recordings of their own compositions.
These sessions provide an unparalleled opportunity to learn what truly works for live players, building confidence and practical skills that cannot be replicated through samples alone. The experience gained in the studio not only refines a composer’s craft but also prepares them for the demands of professional scoring sessions.
