Master of Fine Arts in Music for Motion Pictures and Contemporary Media

Luc Herrmann (Canada)
Luc Herrmann is a composer and guitarist from Montreal who creates music focused on storytelling and emotional impact. With a background in jazz and a passion for diverse musical styles, his work balances intimacy and scale, moving effortlessly between quiet, reflective moments and sweeping cinematic arcs. He blends subtle ambient textures with epic orchestral arrangements to capture the emotional depth and narrative complexity of the films and games he contributes to. Recent projects include the short film Re-Strung and the documentary series Between Two Worlds. You can listen to his work at www.lucherrmann.com.

Online Graduate Diploma in Film and Game Scoring

Nick Bulavin (Ukraine)
Nick Bulavin is a seasoned media composer and sound designer with over 15 years of experience in music and audio production. Over the years, he has crafted original scores and soundscapes for games, film, theater, and advertising across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. His commercial clients include LEGO, Lamborghini, Škoda, Papa John’s, and others. Most recently, he scored a medieval strategy game BLOCKLORDS. Nick brings a cinematic sensibility to interactive media, focusing on worldbuilding through music, adaptive audio systems, and emotionally engaging soundscapes tailored to each project’s unique narrative and aesthetic.

Film Scoring Summer Programme

Akshay Tiwari (USA)
Akshay S. Tiwari (b. 2002) is a composer, educator, and performer based in New York. A student of renowned Sufi musician Amir Vahab, Tiwari regularly performs on the Turkish saz. Working with Riverside Church’s Harmony in Motion program, Tiwari launched a series of educational children's concerts. In one of these concerts, his piece Clara & the Nutcracker (2024) was accompanied by artwork made by young children. On April 11th, 2025, he premiered A Pickle for the Knowing Ones, conducted by George Manahan. As part of this theatrical work, an actor (Rohde Costello) played the role of 18th-century businessman Timothy Dexter.
