Master of Fine Arts in Music for Motion Pictures and Contemporary Media

Sofia Assarioti

Sofia Assarioti (Greece)

Sofia Assarioti is a composer from Greece, specializing in hybrid music that blends orchestral and folk influences. Her work reflects both her Balkan roots and her training as a classical and rock musician. She has worked on short films such as Swedish “Så skimrande var aldrig havet” (Oscar Whalberg) and Greek “Bloom” (Christoforos Irodotou), which has been accepted to the Drama Short Film Festival, 2026. She is currently working on the video game “Viridis: Seeds of Time” (Grey Guard Games) with Acheron Chen, also a graduate of FSAE 24-25.

Brian Fritsch

Brian Fritsch (United States)

Brian Fritsch is a composer based out of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since graduating the FSAE Online Graduate Diploma Program, he has further studied under several industry professionals to gain a deeper understanding of the film scoring business. He has also participated in several "48 Hour Film" events in the region, and recently scored a short film that will be screened at the Three Rivers Film Festival in Autumn 2026. Brian has also begun collaborating with several local folk bands, arranging and orchestrating folk tunes.

Avery Jarrard

Avery Jarrard (United States)

Avery Jarrard, originally from Crestview, Florida, USA, has always had a passion for film composition. At 18, he had the opportunity to participate in the 2021 Film Scoring Summer Program in Varna. Few feelings compare to hearing his music performed by an orchestra for the first time. Through the program, he developed his skills in orchestration and storytelling through music. Today, Avery works professionally as a ballet dancer while also doubling as a ballet accompanist. He continues to develop his musical career, with composition remaining an important part of his future and a path he hopes to pursue.
